J. R. Miller writes with real warmth and earnest scriptural conviction, and readers who love Victorian devotional prose will find this genuinely moving in its simplicity. But the gender-role assumptions feel prescriptive by any modern standard, the 2011 reprint adds nothing new, and the text is freely available online β there's little reason to purchase this edition specifically.
