Harris is a genuinely provocative theorist and his integrational critique of structuralist linguistics is intellectually significant for those inside that conversation. But this is a dense graduate-level monograph with limited reach outside integrational linguistics specialists, and even Journal of Linguistics reviewers engaged with it as a niche contribution. Worth it for the right academic reader; otherwise a tough climb for limited payoff.
