π Worth It
McCaughrean is one of the best mythology retellers working in children's literature, and 50 stories from cultures spanning the globe is a genuinely ambitious collection. Some individual stories get short shrift at that breadth, and parents should know that mythology means death, trickery, and transformation are all present β handled with care for the audience, but there. A rich and literary introduction to world myth for middle-grade readers.
