The hidden-picture format is a fun twist on a fairy tale everyone already knows, and young children who love I-Spy style books will get some replayable fun out of it. But a 1991 out-of-print edition with sparse critical documentation and a story that does no narrative work of its own is a hard book to recommend with confidence—format novelty alone does not carry a title.
