Self-help β¦ Penny’s Take
Social Intelligence
Daniel Goleman Β· 2007
Goleman does what he does best: takes dense scientific research and turns it into readable, story-rich chapters that change how you think about everyday human interaction. The social neuroscience framing β mirror neurons, emotional contagion, the neurobiology of empathy β was genuinely eye-opening in 2006 and remains accessible even as some of the specific science has been refined. The low-road/high-road model oversimplifies, but it is a productive oversimplification. A worthwhile read for anyone who works with people or wants to understand their own relational patterns better.
