Self-help ✦ Penny’s Take
Thank You, God, for Puppies

👎 Skip It
This cheerful Thomas Nelson board book pairs real puppy photos with simple rhymes and a gentle Christian gratitude message — everything a toddler could want from a lap-read. The problem is there is very little to it beyond novelty, the critical record is essentially absent, and the content is so narrow that most families will find it a one-season read. Sweet for its target audience but hard to recommend over richer toddler titles.
✦ Penny’s Take — this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read — not a page-by-page personal one. The gold ✓ Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
⚠ Parent note — our reviewers flagged: Explicitly Christian content — faith-specific framing throughout; ideal for Christian families but not secular audiences. We still scored it 62; these are context for your family, not an automatic skip.
