The Roma Downey brand gave this Little Angels board book a strong launch in the Christian family market, and the narrative hook — Alex's bad day turning around through a gratitude game — gives the faith message more story structure than most faith board books manage. That said, the critical record is essentially absent, the angel-centric framing is specific to certain traditions, and the book is now over a decade old with no evidence of sustained impact. Christian families with toddlers have better-evidenced options.
✦ Penny’s Take — this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read — not a page-by-page personal one. The gold ✓ Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
⚠ Parent note — our reviewers flagged: Explicitly Christian content featuring angels as central characters; denominationally specific framing. We still scored it 60; these are context for your family, not an automatic skip.
