This is about as good as classic-lit audio gets — the Fagles translation is one of the finest in English, and Simon Callow's narration won an AudioFile Earphones Award for its bardic dignity and clarity. It's classical mythology rather than real-world occult practice, but there's graphic war violence and Dido's on-page suicide, so it's a serious, adult listen — and a genuinely rewarding one.
