A Civil War-era tale of love, separation, and a long search for a missing wife has real emotional bones to it. I just don't have much beyond the publisher's own description to judge the execution — it reads promising on paper, but I can't fully vouch for the craft. Worth a cautious look, not a confident recommendation yet.
