Dostoevsky's last novel wrestles with doubt and faith harder than almost any book ever written, and remarkably it comes down on the side of faith through Alyosha even after presenting devastating arguments against it in the 'Grand Inquisitor' chapter - that section is intense and worth a family conversation. It's long and philosophically dense, so it asks real patience from a listener, but the payoff is enormous. Luke Thompson's narration handles the weight capably, making this a demanding but deeply worthwhile listen.
