Self-help ✦ Penny’s Take
The Caring Motivation
Ofra Mayseless · 2016
65/100
👎 Skip It
A pioneering Oxford University Press monograph presenting the first integrated theoretical framework for caring as a fundamental human motivation — synthesizing evolutionary biology, attachment theory, feminist scholarship, and clinical psychology in an ambitious 440-page argument. The scholarship is genuinely important and Mayseless is a credible developmental psychologist. At this length and density, though, it serves academic psychologists and clinicians almost exclusively; general readers will not find a way in.
