Therrien is the real thing — a former theology professor who writes like he actually wants you to understand, not like he's testing whether you deserve to. Anchoring every chapter to the Bible and the Catechism keeps the doctrine clean and verifiable, and the welcoming tone works whether you're curious, lapsed, or quietly doubtful. Outside the Catholic universe this won't find many readers, but within it this is one of the more honest and accessible introductions available.
