The Complete Idiot's Guide to Starting and Running a Bar
Steven Johns Β· 2008
52/100
π Skip It
For its 2008 moment this was a practical, well-organized roadmap for bar entrepreneurs, covering everything from licensing to mixology to marketing in readable style. The problem is that licensing requirements, cost structures, and especially marketing (no digital or social media guidance at all) have shifted so fundamentally since publication that using this for real planning would be risky. Industry-specific and significantly dated.
β¦ Penny’s Take β this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read β not a page-by-page personal one. The gold β Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
β Parent note β our reviewers flagged: subject-matter: alcohol industry throughout β faith audiences should note context. We still scored it 52; these are context for your family, not an automatic skip.
