When it was published in 2011, this guide filled a real gap by explaining the then-new 1099-K reporting rules to online sellers who were caught off guard. That moment has long passed: specific tax thresholds, state sales-tax rules, platform policies, and the entire marketplace-tax-collection landscape have changed fundamentally in the years since, and using this book for compliance decisions today would be dangerous.
