π Worth It
A hundred years of readers have been right about this one. Von Arnim's novel about four very different women discovering themselves in an Italian castle is warm, wry, wise, and quietly radical β the kind of book that makes you feel better about being alive without ever announcing that it is doing so. The pace is leisurely and the male characters are thin, but neither flaw dents what this book delivers. A genuine classic.
