The Enchanter Reborn

The Harold Shea conceit — that parallel mythological worlds can be accessed through symbolic logic — is genuinely clever, and this continuation anthology handles the original spirit with evident affection. But it is almost entirely a fan-service exercise; readers unfamiliar with de Camp and Pratt's originals will find little to hold onto, and quality varies across the five contributing authors. A warm recommendation for Enchanter devotees, a puzzled shrug for everyone else.
