This one fills a real gap that most career books ignore entirely, written by someone who's clearly spent a career specializing in exactly this niche, with a clear step-by-step framework from mindset through salary negotiation. It's two decades old now though, and hiring practices and background-check rules (ban-the-box laws especially) have shifted enough since 2005 that I'd want a more current edition before recommending it outright.
