A thought-provoking premise — that control, ownership, and independence are joy-thieves — presented in a novel flip-over dual-book format that is more gimmick than feature. The Deseret News found it engaging but flagged a real problem: the same concepts are framed as both problems and necessary stepping stones, creating genuine contradictions rather than useful paradox. The repetition compounds the confusion. There is something worth thinking about here, but the execution doesn't do the idea justice.
