This 1917 boys' adventure is wholesome, fast-moving, and perfectly clean — the kind of thing that gave the Hardy Boys tradition its footing. The problem is that a century of dust shows in both the prose style and the period attitudes about class and hierarchy, and without any modern critical assessment there's little reason to reach for it over livelier contemporaries.
