The Hope Circuit

Martin Seligman · 2018
84/100
👍 Worth It

Seligman writing the intellectual memoir of positive psychology from the inside is a rare thing — he has the authority, the self-awareness to admit where early theories were wrong, and the narrative skill to make the history of science feel personal. The academic density occasionally slows the pace and his account of his own influence can shade toward self-congratulation, but neither flaw undoes how much substance is packed into this book. A genuinely important read for anyone interested in how psychology shifted from pathology toward flourishing.
