This is the Thursday Murder Club at its best -- Osman balances the cozy-mystery fun with real, aching honesty about aging and loss as Stephen's dementia takes center stage. The multi-thread mystery is twisty and satisfying, though Fiona Shaw's narration is a bit of a mixed bag on audio. Her hushed, whispered dialogue delighted some listeners and left others straining to follow along, so it's still worth the listen but maybe not the easiest one to have on in the background.
