Self-help β¦ Penny’s Take
The Nature of Happiness
Desmond Morris Β· 2006
62/100
π Skip It
Desmond Morris brings his behavioral science chops to happiness and produces a readable 192-page survey of what evolutionary biology tells us about feeling good β pleasant enough but ultimately thin. The reductionist framework leaves spiritual dimensions completely off the table, and with no significant critical trail and a skeptical conclusion about whether lasting happiness is even achievable, this one is more curiosity than essential reading. Morris's earlier work carries more weight.
β¦ Penny’s Take β this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read β not a page-by-page personal one. The gold β Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
β Parent note β our reviewers flagged: secular evolutionary framework Β· skeptical of transcendent meaningβlimited spiritual dimension. We still scored it 62; these are context for your family, not an automatic skip.
