Lattimore's translation is the scholar's Odyssey — faithful to Homer's meter and rightly called one of the best English versions out there. It's a foundational story of homecoming and cunning, but know going in that Greek gods and goddesses run through every page and the suitor slaughter at the end is genuinely brutal.
