The Philosophical Baby

Alison Gopnik · 2009
84/100
👍 Worth It

Gopnik does something rare here — she takes rigorous cognitive science research and turns it into something genuinely mind-opening for any reader who has ever watched a baby and wondered what's going on in there. The lantern-versus-flashlight metaphor for infant versus adult consciousness alone is worth the price of admission. One of the better popular science books of the last two decades.
