Self-help β¦ Penny’s Take
The Proper Care and Feeding of Marriage
Dr. Laura Schlessinger Β· 2007
65/100
π Skip It
Schlessinger's follow-up is more balanced than its predecessor by at least addressing both spouses, and the no-nonsense radio-advice tone is effective for readers who already trust her voice. The critique of feminism as a driver of marital unhappiness will feel accurate to some readers and alienating to many others, and the anecdote-driven format lacks the grounding that would make the claims stick. Worth it for her existing audience; a harder sell for anyone else.
