Graybill's multigenerational history of the Clarke family is a powerful, deeply researched telling of a nearly forgotten atrocity, the 1870 Marias Massacre, and it rightly won a major American Indian history book award. Just know going in that it's dense academic history with genuinely disturbing violence, not a light read. Tom Stechschulte narrates, but I don't have enough feedback to tell you how it holds up as a listen.
