The Truth is Out There
Brian Lowry's official companion to The X-Files Seasons 1 and 2 is exactly what it promises: a thorough, well-researched primary document for fans of the series. Exclusive interviews with David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, and Chris Carter, plus storyboards, production notes, and a glossary of Mulderisms make this a legitimate archive of the show's early era. Its value is almost entirely limited to existing fans β there's little here for anyone else. The coverage ends at Season 2, so later mythology developments make some analysis feel incomplete in retrospect. Professional critical attention was sparse; this is a licensed tie-in. For X-Files fans and collectors, it remains a reliable and affectionate document of the series at its peak.
