Clive Cussler's ninth Dirk Pitt adventure opens with a frozen crew discovered in a Greenland fjord and never really slows down, spanning the globe as Pitt races to find the lost Library of Alexandria before a conspiracy topples governments from Egypt to Mexico. The historical hook around Alexandria gives the adventure more intellectual texture than a standard thriller, and Cussler delivers the relentless pacing his fans come for. The honest caveat: at least one major reviewer called the plot twists ridiculous, and anyone new to the series will notice that Pitt himself follows a familiar formula with limited character depth. Action violence and mild profanity are present — fine for older teens and adults, not for younger readers. A solid, fast-moving entry for series fans.
