This four-book bundle drops you into Jolie Gentil's world well past its front door, so newcomers will feel like they walked in on someone else's inside jokes. The Jersey shore charm and friendly banter are real, but there's not much beneath the cozy-mystery surface, and I couldn't find much outside evidence the writing rises above genre-comfortable.
