Bradford delivers exactly what five novels into this saga her readers have come to expect — glamorous, ambitious women navigating love, loyalty, and danger across a well-drawn family dynasty. The multi-protagonist structure gives real depth to the ensemble, and genre critics found it satisfying. You do need to have read the earlier Harte books to get the full emotional payoff.
