Series ✦ Penny’s Take
War of the Posers
Eric Ugland · 2020
75/100
👍 Worth It
Ugland's Bad Guys series has earned its audience by delivering LitRPG that actually has personality — Clyde's dry humor and the guild-war stakes are well-balanced, and Neil Hellegers' narration adds real value on audio. The corpse-king possession subplot gives the series a darker undercurrent that may concern some readers, and this is firmly not a standalone entry point. For fans already invested in the series, Book 4 delivers exactly what they came for.
✦ Penny’s Take — this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read — not a page-by-page personal one. The gold ✓ Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
⚠ Parent note — our reviewers flagged: Supernatural possession subplot (corpse-king) — not appropriate for faith families sensitive to occult-adjacent content; adult humor and battle violence throughout. We still scored it 75; these are context for your family, not an automatic skip.
