Self-help β¦ Penny’s Take
What to Expect the First Year
Sharon Mazel Β· 2008
83/100
π Worth It
Over 10.5 million copies and decades of baby showers have not diminished what makes this book work: the month-by-month format turns an overwhelming first year into something navigable, and the third edition's updates to pediatric guidelines and breastfeeding coverage keep it current. Some parents find the sheer comprehensiveness anxiety-inducing rather than reassuring, and that is a fair warning. But as a one-volume reference for the full first year it remains the benchmark.
