A genuinely rare look at women entrepreneurs in the 18th and 19th centuries, built on primary sources and published by a serious academic press. The problem is that almost no one outside a graduate seminar will find it — the reception data is nearly blank and the academic register keeps general readers at arm's length. Worth knowing about if you're in a women's history course, but hard to recommend broadly.
