Chad Arment's Coachwhip anthology does genuine preservation work, collecting pulp-era cryptofiction stories from the 1910s through 1930s that would otherwise be nearly impossible to find. The thematic focus is coherent and the editorial credibility is real within the cryptozoology community. Story quality is uneven in the way pulp anthologies always are, and the audience is genuinely narrow — if cryptozoology and early-twentieth-century adventure fiction both appeal to you, it is worth seeking out; otherwise it is too specialist to broadly recommend.
