A Month of Bedtime Stories
Neil Roy McFarlane Β· 2018
π Narrated by Neil Roy McFarlane (author-narrated)
Neil Roy McFarlane's 31 whimsical tales, one a night, gives this a nice built-in structure, and the underlying work picked up an Honorable Mention at the London Book Festival, so there's at least some outside recognition. He narrates his own stories with what's described as an energetic, character-driven delivery, though I couldn't confirm that description came from an independent source. A decent month-long bedtime pick, and the listen is probably better than most self-narrated efforts.
β¦ Penny’s Take β this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read β not a page-by-page personal one. The gold β Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
π Narration: good Author-narrated; a source describes energetic delivery with distinct character voices, though its independence/credibility couldn't be confirmed.
