A true classic, and deservedly so — Meg's fierce love for her brother carries genuine spiritual weight, with darkness-versus-light themes most faith-minded listeners will appreciate. Hope Davis's narration earned real praise from AudioFile for keeping the story's tender heart intact, so this is a strong listen too. The witch-named guide characters occasionally raise eyebrows in more cautious circles, but the story's heart is unmistakably about love winning.
