A Year Full of Holidays

Susan Middleton Elya writes rhyming picture books with real facility, and the multicultural cast celebrating a year of holidays is a genuine strength for classroom use. The calendar-literacy concept is solid and the read-aloud bounce is there. But with several holidays missing, no major critical acclaim or award recognition, and illustrations described as pleasant rather than memorable, this is a fine but forgettable entry in a crowded seasonal picture-book market.
