Nora Tarlow's 1991 alphabet book is an unusual object: a single poem that walks A to Z through Easter symbols, illustrated entirely with full-color reproductions of vintage postcards and magazine covers from 1882 to 1933. The art — anthropomorphic bunnies, spring chicks, children in period dress — is the real draw, and for families who love heirloom aesthetics it is genuinely charming. Young children get alphabet structure and Easter vocabulary in one sitting. The honest caveat is twofold: the rhyming verse is occasionally forced, and the content focuses on Easter customs and imagery rather than the Resurrection, so families looking for explicitly Christian devotional material will want to supplement it.
