Ballet Surprise

👍 Worth It

Ballet Surprise is Book 6 in the Full House: Michelle chapter book series, and it knows exactly what it's doing. Michelle Tanner tries out for the school ballet despite being a genuinely poor dancer, and rather than bow out gracefully, she comes up with a bold and unexpected solution that lets her shine anyway. It's a relatable setup—nobody likes admitting they're not good at something—and the payoff rewards creative thinking over pretending. The Full House franchise was built on wholesome family values, and this spin-off series carries that through consistently. The honest caveat is that readers unfamiliar with the television show will get less out of the character dynamics, and franchise tie-in books rarely prioritize literary originality over brand recognition. For Full House fans in early elementary school, though, this is a comfortable and charming read.
