Biography Gwen Stefani

Katherine Krohn delivers a clean, organized middle-grade biography tracing Gwen Stefani from her Orange County childhood through No Doubt's breakout with Tragic Kingdom, her chart-topping solo work, and her L.A.M.B. fashion venture. The prose is accessible and the chapter structure keeps milestones easy to follow — exactly what school library biography readers need. A good supplementary bibliography and index round it out. The main limitation is the 2007 publication date, which leaves out Stefani's role on The Voice and everything that followed, so it captures about half a career. At 112 pages it is also fairly thin on depth. Still, for the target age of ten to fourteen and a school-library setting, it does its job honestly and cleanly.
