Bud Finds Her Gift

Robin Wall Kimmerer brings the same attentiveness that made Braiding Sweetgrass a phenomenon to a picture book, and the result is quietly beautiful — a story about stillness, observation, and giving back that young children can actually sit with. Naoko Stoop's illustrations add warmth and the back matter gives kids something real to do with the ideas. Faith communities may want to reflect on the Indigenous reciprocity-with-the-Earth framing, but the book's broad retail reception (including at Deseret Book) suggests it travels widely.
