Catswalk: The Growing of a Girl is a 64-page illustrated story by pioneering cartoonist Trina Robbins, set in ancient Mesopotamia and following a young girl raised by a giant speaking cat who sets out on a journey of self-discovery. Robbins is a foundational figure in comics history — one of the first women to work in mainstream comics — and the Mesopotamian setting is genuinely rare in children's books. That rarity is part of what makes the concept intriguing. The honest caveats are substantial, however: documentation on this title is thin, specific reviews are scarce, and the publisher Celestial Arts had a New Age orientation that may not align with faith-friendly priorities. It is also out of print and difficult to find. Worth considering for mythology and comics fans, but parents should preview before purchasing given the limited available information.
