Fr. Tadros Malaty's retelling of the major Old Testament narratives is a warm, accessible entry point into Scripture for children in Coptic Orthodox families and classrooms. At 212 pages, it moves from Creation through the later prophets in simple prose suited to reading aloud, and Sawsan Tasony's traditional Coptic artwork gives the book a visually distinctive identity rooted in early Christian Egypt. Sunday school teachers will find it as useful as parents will. The honest note: the theological framing is specifically Coptic Orthodox, which means Protestant or Catholic families may encounter interpretive emphases that feel unfamiliar. Mainstream children's literature journals haven't reviewed it, so outside-community credentialing is thin. Within its intended audience, though, it fills a real need gracefully.
