Twenty-three photographs with short captions is a fine conversation-starter for a three-year-old, but it barely qualifies as a book in terms of informational depth or narrative. The images are described as clean and high-quality, and sparking cross-cultural curiosity is a real value — just not enough of one to recommend this over a more substantial introduction to China for young children. Better as a library browse than a purchase.
