The branching, choose-your-own-adventure format is genuinely fun and gets kids actively involved in the story, and having four totally different genres in one book is a nice hook. Just know one of the branches is a zombie-slayer scenario, so if you're keeping things extra tame, give that section a look before handing it over.
β¦ Penny’s Take β this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read β not a page-by-page personal one. The gold β Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
β Parent note β our reviewers flagged: Includes a zombie-slayer story branch with mild monster-fighting content; worth a quick parent preview for younger or more sensitive readers.. We still scored it 52; these are context for your family, not an automatic skip.
