Cleo the Cat leads toddlers through the alphabet not by naming letters bluntly but by offering descriptive rhyming clues and inviting kids to guess — a small design choice that makes the whole thing feel like a game rather than a lesson. Caroline Mockford's illustrations are bold and warm, and Nursery Education called it "a delightful, illustrative book, sure to be a hit with both children and adults." Parents report that toddlers respond enthusiastically, which is the real test. One genuine caveat: the guessing-game format means the letter-to-object connection is implicit, and for very early learners who need the explicit link reinforced, that may slow things down. For playful read-aloud sessions, though, it earns its place on the shelf.
