Clifford's Bedtime Story

Clifford's Bedtime Story is a 2013 padded board book from Norman Bridwell's beloved franchise, and it does exactly what it promises. Emily Elizabeth gets Clifford ready for bed — bathing him in the swimming pool, raking his fur, brushing his enormous teeth — before settling in to read him a story of his own. The scale comedy lands reliably with young children, and the bedtime-routine framing makes it naturally useful at tuck-in time. The Clifford brand brings decades of earned trust from parents and educators, and the padded board format holds up to toddler handling. It won't surprise anyone who knows the series, and the humor rests almost entirely on the size gag rather than story depth. But for the 2–5 crowd, warm and funny is more than enough.
