A gentle, values-driven middle-grade story about a boy, an injured hawk, and the responsibility of caring for wild things — exactly the kind of quiet nature narrative that works well for faith-friendly families. The problem is that it is out of print, nearly impossible to find, and has almost no critical record to verify its quality. Worth tracking down for the right reader, but hard to recommend broadly when there is so little to go on.
