Danny and the Dinosaur Go to Camp
Syd Hoff understood that the funniest thing about a dinosaur at summer camp is not the dinosaur — it is everyone else figuring out how to work around him. Danny and his enormous friend turn every camp activity sideways: the dinosaur IS the rowboat, the race is over in one step, and no cot in the world fits. Hoff's cartoon illustrations are warm and bouncy, and the 32-page length is exactly right for a new reader's attention span. This is a Level 1 I Can Read book, which means the vocabulary is intentionally limited — older readers will blow through it in minutes. For early readers just finding their confidence, though, it is genuinely joyful. A worthy addition to the beloved franchise.
