Children's ✦ Penny’s Take
Danny and the Dinosaur Ride a Bike
Syd Hoff · 2020
65/100
👎 Skip It
The growth-mindset message — it takes many tries to learn something new — is genuinely valuable for young readers, and the humor of the dinosaur getting his tail run over lands just right for the age group. But as a posthumous franchise extension, it doesn't quite capture the magic of Hoff's original, and the bike-riding premise is narrow enough that it won't have the lasting replay value of the classic. Fine for Danny fans; not an essential pick for new readers.
